There is a connotation of swimming complex being a harsh and unapproachable environment as they are often designed for adults. (Chlorine-wafting odour, semi-cold water, echoy and cold color palette.

Swimming is often seen as an outdoor activity as people enjoy the natural surroundings that outdoor pool locations provide. These natural settings contribute to the appeal of outdoor swimming. However indoor swimming does carry it鈥檚 own appeal such as year-round accessibility, controlled environments, and the ability to swim in various weather conditions.

The key design direction then aims to create an indoor swimming school that embodies the positive attributes of both indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Hence, the design concept is to explore the integration of our local tropical outdoor setting into an indoor space. A seamless harmonious environment that promotes a sense of unity with nature while proving a holistic and dynamic learning experience.
