X Limb revolutionises prosthetics through modular design and industrial manufacturing, solving the problems of high cost, poor fit and consistent aesthetics with 'universal fit + affordability'. The socket incorporates BOA's Dynamic Adjustment System with a ruler-like structure and knobs to fit 90% of all residual limbs without customisation. The standardised three-way joint supports plug-and-play compatibility with any leg socket diameter/shape, allowing DIY assembly or online purchase. Joints with a four-link mechanism mimic natural gait, and a knee housing ensures safety. The use of 3D printing technology and mass production reduces costs, making the prosthesis 1/10th the price of traditional models, while eco-friendly cardboard packaging and local production reduce the carbon footprint by 60%, in line with World Health Organisation standards. At a cost of 20% of the monthly income of low-income groups, the prosthesis has enabled more than 500,000 users worldwide to regain mobility and employment opportunities, promoting technological inclusion and social justice. Rejecting the stereotypical image of 'medical devices', XLimb brings a human touch to prosthetics with its low cost and freedom of customisation, promoting inclusion of people with disabilities and social equity.
