This design project for Changsha 7MALL seeks to create an interesting and trendy shopping space by incorporating modern lighting and innovative building materials. This design elevates Changsha 7MALL above the multitude of cookie-cutter, internet-famous shopping malls, underscoring the chic and high-tech essence inherent in the brand image.
The thoughtfully-planned layout, color palettes, and decor fuse into a unique ambience that captures the flair of sought-after internet-famous architecture, harmoniously blending high-tech charm with immersive interaction. Three facades of the building boast large LED screens that go beyond mere visual aesthetics — they function both as dynamic advertising mediums and as interactive platforms. A standout feature of this project is the first large-scale interactive LED facade in Changsha, known as "The Clock of Changsha", which emulates a digital clock with its four-digit date display. This design not only captures the attention of passers-by and further converts their interest in the clock into potential patronage at the mall, but also establishes itself as a photogenic must-visit location during holidays and a prominent city landmark.
The irregular-shaped exterior walls on both sides incorporate the 7MALL logo, with the LED lights embedded at the upper part and the LED screen integrated in the lower part. This synergy creates dazzling lighting effects, drawing the eyes of passers-by to the showcased advertisements and enhancing the promotional reach. In terms of the interior design, vibrant and colorful lighting designs are utilized throughout, establishing a visual continuity with the exterior LED screens. This evokes a consistent and modern tech-chic aesthetic allure. The central shaft of the mall is adorned with a ribbon-like screen that continuously scrolls relevant information of the mall for promotion, while bridging the visual space between floors. The undulate shape of this screen injects a sense of dynamism and fashion. Deviating from traditional monotonous forms, the interior ceiling of this mall showcases a mesmerizing spiral pattern meticulously crafted by embedding lights within the diagonally-oriented metallic grilles, offering customers an engaging visual treat.
